Our Community
Our Responsibility
The Dupont Park Church is located in the 7th Ward in the District of Columbia. While having many strengths, this area also has many challenges surrounding housing, education, food disparities and many more. A part of making disciples for the kingdom of heaven is to first meet the needs of the members we have been called to serve. Below is the beginning of our impact in the District of Columbia.
We Provide Education
The Dupont Park Adventist School has provided educational services in the District of Columbia for over one hundred years. Our school not only aims to build the mind for academic success but the character of our students as well, so that they may be productive citizens in this world.
We Provide Food
The Dupont Park Church has recognized the poverty and lack of food resources in our community. Because of this, we provide food for our commuting members on a weekly basis. We serve every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm. On the third week of every month we serve on Thursdays.
We Provide Diapers
The Dupont Park Church is aware that there are many mothers and fathers in our community raising young children. We also recognize that 1 in 5 families lives below the federal property level. Because of this we have partnered with the Greater DC Diaper Bank to provide diapers for mothers, fathers and guardians in need. We serve every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm. On the third week of every month we serve on Sundays.
We Provide Energy
The Dupont Park Church has partnered Groundswell, a local nonprofit community solar developer, with construction funding provided by the DC government’s Solar for All program, to deliver electricity to low-income households, near the church, at no cost to them for the next 20 years.
We Provide Affordable Housing
Dupont Park Seventh Day Adventist Apartments is a senior living provider in Washington, District of Columbia that offers residents Independent Living and Low Income Affordable.
